Bradley Import Company
was founded in 1954 in Los Angeles, California to import dolls
made in
Japan and Korea. Dolls are referred to as
Glamour dolls, Big Eyed girl dolls and are from 12 to 13" tall
with foam and
beige nylon over wired body. Dolls came in many different long gowns and were on a wood stand. The Bradley Import Company
was acquired by Hasbro in 1984.
These dolls were sold through gift
shops and possibly catalog companies like Sears or
Montgomery Ward. The doll shown in a pink gown at left is
marked © Bradley, Made in Korea 1977.
Another
later doll found with a tag says - Hasbro © Bradley,
Made in China 1985. Other similar big eyed cloth wired dolls are by Holiday Faire Company
of Japan made in the 1960s+. |
