U.S. Finance Corps cowboy doll,

all composition doll, jointed only at the shoulders, with black painted cowboy boots

Please Note;  The H. D. Lee company never made a female doll according to Jean a doll historian for the Lee company, thus there is no such thing as a Betty Lee doll, sister to Buddy Lee, sold by the H D. Lee Company in composition or hard plastic.  However, there have been found Carnival dolls, made by both Columbia Doll & Toy Company (1917-1922) and Gem Toy Company (1913-1931), as shown above left, dolls are unmarked, that bear a striking similarity to the composition marked Buddy Lee dolls.

Aug 2008 - Thank you Jean, for sharing this correction, about the mystery of the Betty Lee doll!
