Edelmann doll company of Sonneberg, Germany was in the doll making
business from 1921-1933.
Their doll socket heads were purchased
from Armand Marseille or
Schoenau & Hoffmeister. Edelmann
also supplied dolls or parts to doll hospitals.
Edelmann made
character baby dolls with a bisque or celluloid socket head; 16, 20 or 24" tall, on a five piece composition toddler or bent limb baby body, molded painted hair or wigged, sleep eyes, open mouth, some with pierced
or open nostrils.
