Eegee - Goldberger Doll Mfg. Co. Inc. - Dolls 1917-1970's

The Eegee Doll Company was founded in 1917 by Mr. & Mrs. E. Goldberger in Brooklyn, NY USA, the Eegee trademark was first used in 1923. Early dolls were marked E G, E. Goldberger and finally Eegee or Goldberger or (in a a circle) "TRADEMARK/EEGEE/Dolls/MADE IN USA". They produced composition, latex, hard plastic and vinyl dolls.

Here are some of the Eegee dolls that we have found:

1936 Miss Charming, 12-27" tall, Shirley Temple look a like, all composition jointed body, green sleep eyes, open mouth with six upper teeth, wigged, shown pristine and all original with tag. some are marked on head: E.G., others are unmarked.

1936 Baby Charming, 15 & 18" tall, all composition jointed body, composition head, wigged some with molded hair beneath, brown sleep eyes, open mouth with two upper teeth, toddler body with pudgy legs, some were head turning walkers, dolls are unmarked, of possibly with the E.G. marking.

ca. 1930s Chikie, 17-19" tall, all composition, jointed body, molded painted brown hair, tin blue sleep eyes or painted blue eyes, closed open red mouth or open mouth with four upper teeth, bent right arm, doll is unmarked. Patsy type.

1949 Honey Girl & Honey Boy, 11 1/2" tall, all hard plastic, both are the same doll, it depends on how it is dressed as a boy or girl, molded hair, blue sleep eyes, with real upper lashes and painted lower lashes, closed red mouth, chubby toddler body (11" around their tummy), dolls are unmarked but had a wrist tag. The boy doll came dressed in a light weight sweater and pants and the girl was in a dress & bonnet.

1949 Honey Boy, 11 1/2"

1952 Gigi Perreau, 17" tall, vinyl head, hard plastic body, smiling mouth with teeth, Gigi was a universal international starlet.

1953 Susan Stroller, 23 or 29" tall, head turning walker type, bendable knees, with saran braided hair with curlers, sleep eyes, mama crier marked on head: Eegee on body EE-GEE or unmarked.

1955 Susan Stroller, 19 1/2, 23 or 26" tall, vinyl and hard plastic, walker type, closed mouth, sleep eyes, rooted braided hair. Probably marked the same as doll above.

1953 Susan Stroller, 16"

1957 Little Debutante, 15" & 17", dolls are only jointed at the neck. These were Ideal Miss Revlon like dolls, and certainly meant to compete with them. Have pierced ears, rooted ponytail hair, sleep eyes and high heel feet. marked on neck Eegee 15 H or Eegee 17 H.

1958 Little Miss Debutante, 10 1/2" tall, Ideal Little Miss Revlon like competitor doll, sleep eyes, rooted hair, non-twist waist, straight legs, pierced ears, high heel feet, dressed in 50's fashion and came with a fake fur shawl, marked on neck Eegee or possibly E.

1958 Little Miss Debutante

1958 Debutante, 28" tall, walker, jointed doll that also has elbows and knees jointed, rooted hair, sleep eyes, ears pierced, high heel feet, marked on neck 20 HH/Eegee. Also came as a Bride doll which is shown.

1957-1965 Babette, Miss Babette, 11 1/2" teenage fashion doll, came as a white or the more rare black doll, (Bild Lilli, Barbie clone or competitor) doll, came wearing earrings, striped swimsuit (several colors) and high heel shoes. Often marked on back: E G.

1958 Baby Susan, 8 1/2" tall, molded hair, open mouth, I think this is correct but uncertain. Doll is in it's box, and clothing and bonnet seem to be original.

1960 Maskerade Magic, 12" tall, doll clothing is not removable, rooted hair, had five different face masks. Cute, too cute.

1961-1970's Annette, 16, 32 or 36" tall, Patti Playal type, all vinyl, sleep eyes, rooted wig long or short bob, walking type, Play Pal type doll.

Doll shown is probably not in her original clothes, but it is a lovely lacy dress that seems to fit her well, so I could be wrong on this ?

1961-1963? Andy - #A70 - MIB, he's 12" tall with painted facial features and molded hair. He must have been Annette's boyfriend. Marked on neck: 1961 E.G.

1963 Gemmette, 15 1/2" tall, rooted hair, sleep eyes, jointed body, dressed in a matching gem colored dress and included a child's gem ring; Miss Amethyst, Miss Emerald, Miss Diamond, Miss Ruby, Miss Sapphire and Miss Topaz.

1963 Shelly, 8" tall, fashion doll, Tammy type grow hair. (Shelly has borrowed a Barbie Fancy Free outfit for decency purposes only) so she is not shown in original clothing.

1963 Tandy Talks, Play Pal type, 21 tall, rooted hair, blue sleep eyes, painted freckles, toddler hard plastic body, pull string talker that says various phrases.

1963 Puppetrina, 22 1/2" tall, rooted hair, sleep eyes, real lashes, open mouth, rosey full cheeks, put your fingers in her arms and head to make the doll move, came in various outfits

1963-1968 Victorian Lady, 15" tall, sleep eyes, real lashes, hard plastic body, rooted hair, this one is wearing a red velvet dress trimmed with lace and a matching bonnet (their were probably several different costumes for this doll over the years). Marked Eegee.

1964 Ballerina, 31" tall, Patti Playpal type, hard plastic with a vinyl head, rooted hair, sleep eyes, jointed at neck, shoulders, and hips.

Not sure this is the right doll, she looks suspiciously like the 36" tall Annette doll 1961-1970's above, we'll need to look into this a bit more, so use a little caution until we can do some research on this :) lol course I could be all wrong here too.

1960's Granny Clampett of the Beverly Hillbillies, the TV show in the 1960's, 14" tall, hard plastic and vinyl, rooted gray hair done in a bun in back, painted facial features with closed mouth, wore a simple cotton dress, usually marked: Eegee/3.

1966 Child doll, 19" tall, marked 20/25 M/13.

Shelly or a Child walker doll, came in 25", 28" or 36" tall, all vinyl with rooted hair or a curly wig, blue sleep eyes. Probably marked Eegee on neck.

1969 Baby Carrie, 14, 18 or 24" tall, rooted or molded hair, sleep or glassine eyes, the smallest came in a carriage the other sizes came in a baby seat.

1970 Babette, 15 or 25" tall, cloth chubby baby body, vinyl head with rooted hair, sleep or painted eyes.

1970 Camilla, 16" tall, foam body, rooted hair a "Posi Playmate doll", came wearing a striped dress with lace trim and probably other outfits too, doll is shown in her red flower pajamas.
