Henri Alexandre - Paris, France - Dolls 1889-1891

Henri Alexander dolls were made in Paris, France from 1889-1891 at which time they merged with Jules Steiner.  They are best known for designing the Phénix Bébé of which there were about thirty models.  Their dolls were made of bisque heads on composition and wood bodies, wigged, open or closed mouths, usually with pierced ears and are a high quality made doll.                        Some doll markings they used: H & A, Alexandre, Henri (with a star beneath) or mold #  5.  

H.A. Bébé, 12 - 25" tall, closed mouth, socket head, composition and wood jointed body, wigged, paperweight eyes, pierced ears, marked: H.A. Bébé.
