Horsman Brother & Sister Dolls 1937

1937 Brother doll, 21" tall and Sister doll, 23" tall, both have composition heads and limbs, painted tin sleep eyes, molded hair, she with a small topknot and cloth bodies.

Both have comical faces with small puckered closed mouth, hers more so than his.

This is the way Ronsfancy found her Horsman Brother doll, not a pretty sight, but she bought him anyway, as she has a secret weapon . . . "Nativelady", a talented doll restorer. So off he went for his makeover.

Personally, I'd pass on dolls that look like this - because until I saw what a talented restorer could do, I would have thought he was unsalvageable.

Brother is back from his Extreme Makeover, it's hard to believe that this is the same doll!

Nativelady airbrushed the entire head, added the hair color, eyebrows, cheek blush and now you can see those tiny puckered lips, re-placed his irises that are brown tin sleep eyes, and added the eyelashes.

He now looks like brand new from the factory.
