Max Oscar Arnold - Dolls 1877-1930 Germany 

The Max Oscar Arnold Doll Company was located in Neustadt, Germany from 1878 - 1930, they are best known for their mechanical dolls; talking, walking and bathing.  About 1906 they began making phonograph dolls called "Arnoldia that spoke in three languages, had a phonograph inside the body and were advertised to be used to teach children language lessons, many records were available as well.          Here are some Max Oscar Arnold dolls - MOA - we have found:

Doll shown at left & right;  is marked: MOA/ 200/Made in Germany/Welsch.

Doll 15 - 28" tall, shoulder head on kid body, wigged, glass eyes, painted lashes, open mouth with upper teeth.

Above two dolls can be marked: MOA inside an eight pointed star may have a mold number and Made in Germany below, an eagle above a disc with the eight pointed star and MOA in center, or a gargoyle winged type creature holding a box with MOA inside.

Arnoldia, 30" tall, bisque socket head on composition and wood body with phonograph inside, mohair wig, sleep eyes, painted lashes, open mouth with upper teeth, some marked: Arnoldia 54/14.
