Hasbro: ShowBiz Babies 1967-1968 |

Created by Hasbro in 1967-68, featuring famous "Show Biz" singers & songwriters of that time period. Dolls are 4 - 4 1/4" tall, all vinyl, jointed only at the head, bodies are vinyl wired and poseable with rooted hair. Each came with a 33 1/3 RPM record, and on back of the bubble-card is an autograph. Marked on back: © 1967/ HASBRO/HONG KONG. These are individual singers that each had big hits in the late 60's. It's kinda interesting, to note that each of these singers are still touring, except Bobby Gentry. All are 4 - 4 1/4" tall. |

Hermans Hermits - Peter Noone (Peter Blair Bernard Noone) Born in England on November 5, 1947. He is still singing and touring today. In 1965 this group sold more records than the Beatles. Big 60's hits were; Mrs. Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter, Henry the VIII, I'm Into Something Good (This was re-made and used in the 1989 movie Naked Gun). |
Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels - Mitch Ryder (William Levise Jr.) Singer, songwriter, still performs today. His big 60's hits were; Devil with the Blue Dress on, Sep. 1966, Good Golly Miss Molly, Sep. 1966, & Sock It To Me Baby!, Jan 1967. |

8813 Spencer Davis The Spencer Davis Group 1968 Born; July 17, 1942, in Wales. Formed the rock band in 1963. 16 year old Stevie Winwood did vocals, keyboard & guitar, left in 1967 to form the group "Traffic". A dozen different performers were with this group at one time or another. Still performs today. Hits were; Gimme Some Lovin 1967, Somebody Help Me 1966, Keep On Runnin 11/1965. |
8814 Bobby Gentry (Roberta Lee Streeter) Singer, songwriter Born; July 27, 1944 in Mississippi, USA. Hit Song; "Ode To Billy Joe" wrote and recorded in 1967. (Billie Joe McAllister jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge because of a homosexual relationship in the movie, but Bobby Gentry said she's not telling what really happened) won 3 Grammy awards and was made into a movie in 1976. |
