Annette Funicello Doll by Uneeda 1962

Annette Funicello doll 1961 Sherry Rooks has sent us a photo of her vintage Annette Funicello doll from 1962.  Thanks for sharing your doll with all of us Sherry, she's wonderful!

Annette was one of the Mouseketeer's on "The Mickey Mouse Club" TV show in the 1950's.  She also starred in many movies most of which were "beach" movies with Frankie Avalon.  The vintage Annette Funicello doll made by the Uneeda Doll Company is 10 inches tall, is a vinyl doll with long dark curled hair, with bangs, brown sleep eyes, and is wearing a white under dress with a red and white print pinafore, and black high heeled shoes.  Sherry stated in her e-mail that the doll was marked 1961 so that would probably mean the doll was sold/on the market in 1962.

Our only reference from a library of 4 full shelves of doll books was the "15th Blue Book, Doll & Values" by Jan Foulke, 2001.  There is a photo of a doll with short brown, bubble-cut type hair wearing a red one piece nautical dress trimmed with blue ribbon at the hem, waist and a white collar with two rows of blue stitching and a V inset of horizontal blue and white stripes with red mule platform shoes.  Doll value is listed as $75-85 mint, complete.

Today Annette Funicello has a line of Teddy Bears that are sold through QVC.com,

Ashton-Drake has a porcelain Mouseketeer doll of Annette, also Marie Osmond and Annette have collaborated on a doll and teddy bears available at present.
