Uneeda Dolls - Petal People 1968 and Pixie Petal People

More than likely these dolls were introduced to compete with the Flower Darlings and Storykins made by Hasbro and the Liddle Kiddles made by Mattel.  They are posable vinyl dolls with rooted hair, 2 1/2" tall, painted facial features with side glancing eyes and three long painted lashes at the eyes corner and came seated inside a vinyl flower pedal that was on a stalk in it's own plastic flower pot.  The flower and pot are 12 1/2" tall.   When you moved the stem the flower would open or close.   There were six dolls to this series, and a Flower Shoppe doll carrying case sold exclusively at Sears.

There is a sticker on the pot that gives the stock number, doll name and this saying:  "Pull down the stem and you will behold a beautiful doll as the petals unfold.  Take her from her flower chair, bend her, pose her, comb her hair.  Back in her seat at nite she goes.  Push up the stem, the petals close."  

The Petal People were knocked-off by the Luv Buds by Buddy L. in 1982.  These dolls look so similar, are same sized, came in a pot that opened when you poured water on it.  Had names like Georgia Peach, Lilly Pop, Mari Gold, Rosey Rose, Tobey Tulip and Vicky Violet.  If doll is loose, hard to tell the difference between Petal People and Luv Buds.

She has blonde hair, a pink body suit with a black & pink sheer skirt, black hair bow and pink shoes.  Her tulip flower is pink.

She has blonde hair with an orange headband, wears her red body suit with a sheer red skirt and black ribbon at waist, red shoes and rose flower.

She has brown hair, and orange body suit with an orange & black sheer skirt, white shoes.  Her poppy is orange.

30129 Sunny Flower

She has brown hair, a yellow body suit with a sheer yellow skirt, a yellow hair bow and yellow shoes.  Her sunflower is yellow.

30130 Daffi Dill

She has brown hair, wears a yellow vinyl shirt with black shorts that have two gold buttons and white shoes.  Her daffodil flower is green.

30131 Dizzy Daisy

She has blonde hair, yellow body suit with sheer yellow skirt yellow hair bow and pink shoes.  Her daisy flower is white.

Additionally, Uneeda made Pixie Petal People, these were similar to the above dolls but had shorter stems and different pots.

They must have released these dolls later yet, they bear the same name as the earlier dolls yet they do not look like them at all.  They look a lot like the Pee Wee dolls (1960's-80's) also produced by Uneeda.
