Eegee, Gold Doll or Goldberger Dolls 1916-1987

ca. 1931 Eegee Chikie doll, 17-19" tall, Patsy type, all composition, jointed body, molded painted brown hair, tin blue sleep eyes or painted blue eyes, closed open red mouth or open mouth with four upper teeth, bent right arm, doll is unmarked.

1932 Eegee Darling Toddlers Walking doll, 13" tall, mechanical toddler, composition flange with molded painted yellow hair, painted blue eyes, closed mouth, head attached with glue to a cardboard cylindrical body with a wind up walker mechanism inside, wire upper legs with wooden cylinder lower legs and a flat wooden foot attached, all composition arms, came wearing a romper with large circular collar, slim cloth belt, white socks and cloth tie shoes, has a round paper tag pinned to chest with it's name, doll is marked Gold Doll.

There were twelve different models including a teddy bear.  Irwin & Company advertised these dolls in Playthings magazine in 1932, so the Darling Toddlers dolls, appear to be a collaboration between Eegee who provided the composition parts and Irwin the body and wind up portion.

1936 Eegee, Goldberger Baby Charming Walking doll, 15, 18, 20" tall, all composition jointed body head turning walkers, al composition head, some are wigged with molded hair beneath, brown sleep eyes, painted upper eye lashes,. open mouth with two upper teeth, toddler body with pudgy legs with walker mechanism or bent limb baby body non-walker, dolls are unmarked or a later ca. mid to late 1940s doll of composition and rubber lower arms and legs marked 21.

1936 Eegee, Goldberger Baby Charming Walking doll, 20"

1949 Eegee Honey Girl & Honey Boy dolls, 11 1/2" tall, all hard plastic, both are the same doll, it depends on how it is dressed as a boy or girl, molded hair, blue sleep eyes, with real upper lashes and painted lower lashes, closed red mouth, chubby toddler body (11" around their tummy), dolls are unmarked but had a wrist tag.  The boy doll came dressed in a light weight sweater and pants and the girl was in a dress & bonnet.

1952 Eegee Gigi Perreau doll, 17" tall, vinyl head, hard plastic body, smiling mouth with teeth, Gigi was a universal international starlet.

1953 Susan Stroller doll, 16"

ca. 1956 Eegee Boy doll, 16" tall, possibly a companion for the  Cuddle-bun doll, he has a one piece stuffed wired posable body, vinyl head with molded painted hair, sleep eyes, closed mouth, jointed only at the neck, limbs have wires so they can bend, doll marked on neck Eegee.  It's unknown how the boy was clothed or his actual name.

1956 Eegee Cuddle-bun doll, 18 or 22" tall, one piece cotton stuffed vinyl skin body, jointed at the neck only, molded hair with a ribbon, sleep eyes, coos, closed mouth. Sold at Sears and would have come in a Happi Time box, doll marked Eegee, marked on lower back A.

Canada Earle Pullan sold this same doll in 1957 named Babs who is marked Pullan.

1957 Eegee Little Debutante doll, 15, 17",  Ideal Miss Revlon like competitor doll, only jointed at the neck and shoulders, with a one piece body, wired legs for bending, pierced ears, rooted ponytail hair in various colors, sleep eyes and high heel feet, doll marked on neck Eegee 15 H or Eegee 17 H.

1957 Little Debutante doll, 17"

1958 Eegee Little Miss Debutante doll, 10 1/2" tall, Ideal Little Miss Revlon like competitor doll, sleep eyes, rooted hair, non-twist waist, straight legs, pierced ears, high heel feet, dressed in a 1950s fashion dress, with a fake fur shawl, marked on neck Eegee or possibly E. 

1958 Little Miss Debutante doll 10 1/2"

1958 Eegee Miss Debutante doll, 28" tall, (other sizes may have been available) walker, jointed doll that also has elbows and knees jointed, rooted hair, sleep eyes, ears pierced, high heel feet, marked on neck 20 HH Eegee. Also came as a Bride doll which is shown.

1957-1965 Eegee Babette or Miss Babette doll, 11 1/2" teenage fashion doll, came as a white or the more rare black Babette doll, (Bild Lilli, Barbie clone or competitor) doll, came wearing earrings, striped swimsuit (several colors) and high heel shoes, usually doll marked E G.

Baby Susan doll, 8" tall, (doll shown on right) rigid vinyl head, molded painted hair, sleep eyes, molded eyelashes, open nursing mouth, jointed at neck, shoulders and hips, slightly bent legs. She was found in a Eegee box wearing what appears to be her original sundress and bonnet.  It is unknown how doll is marked.

1958 Baby Susan doll, 8 1/2"

1958 Eegee My Fair Lady doll,  20" tall, from the movie of the same name, high heel fashion type, jointed doll with a twist waist, it is unknown how doll is marked.

1959 Eegee Baby Carrie doll, 14, 18 or 24" tall, rooted or molded hair, sleep or glassine eyes, the smallest size came in a carriage, the larger sizes came in a baby seat, the 24" size Baby Carrie doll mark CS 1958 24-5 EG (1-5).

1961-1963 Eegee Andy doll, 12" tall, #A70 shown MIB, plastic jointed boy doll, painted facial features and molded hair, doll mark 1961 EG.  Andy may have been Annette's boyfriend.

1961-1963 Eegee Annette Nurse doll, 11 1/2" tall, high heel fashion doll, she has rooted hair, and painted facial features. Appears to be Andy's girlfriend, same or similar to the Babette doll.

1960s-1970s Eegee Lil Sister doll, 9 1/4" tall, soft plastic head with long straight rooted hair, with or without bangs, painted blue eyes, freckles across the bridge of her nose, closed painted mouth, jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips.  Lil Sister looks similar to Ideal Tammy dolls little sister, Pepper.  Wore a red and white swimsuit similar to the Mattel Skipper doll.  Lil Sister doll is marked EG, Eegee 100.

1963 Eegee Gemmette doll, 15 1/2" tall, rooted hair, sleep eyes, jointed body, dressed in a matching gem colored dress and included a child's gem ring; Miss Amethyst, Miss Emerald, Miss Diamond, Miss Ruby, Miss Sapphire and Miss Topaz.

1963 Eegee Shelley doll, 8" tall, all vinyl small fashion doll, rooted hair in a ponytail, sleep eyes, closed mouth, jointed vinyl body.  Came as a dressed doll or outfits could be bought separately, doll probably marked EG or Eegee.

1963 Eegee Stone Age Baby doll, 12 or 14", Ideal Pebbles Flintstone knock-off, look a like, clone or competitor, vinyl head with short short hair with a plastic bone attached, painted facial features with side glancing eyes, closed smiling mouth, jointed body at neck, shoulders and hips, wore an animal print top edged in red bias tape and red panties, doll marked Eegee 150-2 or unmarked.

1963-1968 Eegee Victorian Lady doll, 15" tall, sleep eyes, real lashes, hard plastic body, rooted hair, this one is wearing a red velvet dress trimmed with lace and a matching bonnet (probably several different costumes for this doll over the years), doll mark Eegee.
