Eegee, Gold or Goldberger Dolls Identified 1916+ USA
The Eegee Doll Company was founded in 1916 by Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Goldberger in Brooklyn, NY the Eegee trademark was first used in 1923. Early dolls were marked EG, Gold Doll, Gold Doll Co., E. Goldberger and finally Eegee, Goldberger or TRADEMARK EEGEE Dolls MADE IN USA in a a circle . Eegee produced composition, latex, hard plastic and vinyl dolls. Today in 2025, Eegee is still a family run business now as Goldberger Toys.
1916+ Eegee, Gold Doll, Goldberger Antique to Vintage Dolls Identified
Most early composition Eegee dolls were seldom marked, which is why so few dolls are found or identified.

1932 Eegee Darling Toddlers Walking doll, 13″ tall, mechanical toddler, composition flange with molded painted yellow hair, blue painted eyes, closed mouth, head attached with glue to a cardboard cylindrical body with a wind up walker mechanism inside, wire upper legs with wooden cylinder lower legs and a flat wooden foot attached, all composition arms, came wearing a romper with large circular collar, slim cloth belt, white socks and cloth tie shoes, has a round paper tag pinned to the chest with it’s name, doll mark Gold Doll.

1936 Eegee Miss Charming doll, 12 – 27″ tall, a Shirley Temple look a like doll without cheek dimples, all composition, green sleep eyes, open mouth with six upper teeth, a chin dimple, wigged, composition jointed body, some Miss Charming dolls have a walker mechanism, doll mark E.G., most Eegee Miss Charming dolls are unmarked.
Eegee’s Miss Charming is a look a like Shirley Temple doll and very popular amongst doll collectors, she can be challenging to identify as most dolls are unmarked.
There were twelve different Eegee Darling Toddler Walking dolls including a teddy bear. Irwin & Company advertised these dolls in Playthings magazine in 1932, so the Darling Toddlers dolls appear to be a collaboration between Eegee who provided the composition parts and Irwin the body and wind up portion.
1936 Eegee, Goldberger Baby Charming Walking doll, 15, 18, 20″ tall, all composition jointed body head turning walkers, composition head, some are wigged with molded hair beneath, brown sleep eyes, painted upper eye lashes,. open mouth with two upper teeth, toddler body with pudgy legs with walker mechanism or bent limb baby body non-walker, doll is unmarked.
1949 Eegee Honey Boy or Honey Girl dolls, 11 1/2″ tall, all hard plastic, both are the same doll, it depends on how it is dressed as a boy or girl, molded hair, blue sleep eyes, with real upper lashes, painted lower lashes, closed mouth, chubby toddler body (11″ around their tummy), doll is unmarked, came with a hang tag. The Honey Boy doll came dressed in a light weight sweater and pants and the Honey Girl was in a dress and bonnet.

ca. 1956 Eegee Boy doll, 16″ tall, a one piece stuffed wired posable body, vinyl head with molded painted hair, sleep eyes, closed mouth, doll is jointed only at the neck, limbs have wires so they can bend, doll marked Eegee. It’s unknown how the boy was clothed or his actual name. The Eegee Boy doll is shown with a 13″ Cuddlebun doll.

1956+ Eegee Cuddle-bun doll, 10 or 13″, 18 or-22″ tall, one piece cotton stuffed vinyl skin body, jointed at the neck only, molded painted hair pulled into bun, fabric bow, sleep eyes, doll coos when squeezed, closed mouth, doll marked Eegee, marked on lower back A. The Sears 1956 Cuddle-bun doll 18-22″ tall would have come in a Happi Time box. In 1957 Earle Pullan of Canada sold this same doll named Babs and doll marked Pullan.

1957+ Eegee Little Debutante doll, 15, 17″, Ideal Miss Revlon like competitor doll, only jointed at the neck and shoulders, with a one piece body, wired legs for bending, pierced ears, rooted ponytail hair in various colors, sleep eyes and high heel feet, doll marked on neck Eegee 15 H or Eegee 17 H.
1958 Eegee Little Miss Debutante doll, 10 1/2″ tall, Ideal Little Miss Revlon like competitor doll, sleep eyes, rooted hair, non-twist waist, straight legs, pierced ears, high heel feet, dressed in a 1950s fashion dress, with a fake fur shawl, marked on neck Eegee or possibly E.
1958 Eegee Miss Debutante walker doll, 28″ tall, (other sizes may have been available) vinyl head, rooted hair, sleep eyes, ears pierced, hard plastic jointed body, elbows and knees, high heel feet, doll marked 20 HH Eegee.

1958 Eegee Baby Susan doll 8″ tall, has a rigid vinyl head, molded painted hair, sleep eyes, molded eyelashes, open nursing mouth, jointed at neck, shoulders and hips, slightly bent legs. Baby Carrie is wearing her original sundress and bonnet. It is unknown how doll is marked.

1959+ Eegee Miss Sunbeam doll, 17″ tall, Sunbeam bread advertising doll, hard plastic jointed body, vinyl head with blonde rooted hair in an up-do, blue sleep eyes, closed smiling mouth, wore a blue print 1950s style short sleeve dress with a full skirt, white collar and cuffs, white half apron, socks and shoes, doll marked Eegee on back of neck.

1950s Eegee Baby Gurglee doll, 15″ tall, hard plastic head with molded hair, sleep eyes, closed mouth, a magic skin latex soft stuffed one piece body, unknown how, if marked. Came with a two sided hang tag that says; Baby Gurglee, Squeeze me now. She sighs, She sings, She sobs and An Ee-gee product, Brooklyn, NY Made in the USA.
