1963-1970 Deluxe Reading Penny Brite doll, 8"

The Deluxe Reading Penny Brite doll, was the only doll in this series, she is 8" tall, blonde short curly rooted hair, dimpled Shirley Temple like cheeks, side glancing painted eyes and lashes, jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips with legs made of soft rubber which do not hold a pose.  She wore a red and white pleated dress with blue flower appliqués on the white stripes, white collar with short sleeve cuffs, a red hair bow and white flat shoes.  She was packaged in a blue hard  plastic case with a clear front and a booklet showing clothing and accessories.    Doll mark on head: Deluxe Reading Corp 1963   Doll mark on back: Deluxe Reading Corp Elizabeth NJ Pat. 1963-1970  Deluxe Reading Penny Brite doll, 8" tall wore a red and white dress with blue flower appliqués, white shoes and her original hard plastic box with a clear front and solid blue back. Penny Brite doll clothing outfit: 1562 Sun and Fun Red and white check swimsuit with red ties, white terry hooded cover-up trimmed in red, wheat colored plastic tote bag, white towel, white hangar, booklet, wheat colored flat shoes.
Penny Brite doll clothing outfit: Winter Princess White knit sweater four button trim down front, pink flower accent, black slacks, booklet, white hanger, white ice skates with silver blades. Penny Brite doll clothing outfit: Smart Shopper   Pink floral sun dress edged in green, matching panties and scarf, pink plastic tote bag, white hanger, booklet, pink flat shoes. Fabric came in various shades.
Penny Brite doll clothing outfit: 1759 Sheer Delight Sheer pink lace trimmed top, pink flower,  matching skirt and tap pants, comb, brush, white hanger, booklet, pink flat shoes.	The next several items are the gift sets that were available for the Penny doll, each set came with an outfit, dolls were purchased separately.
