K and K Toy Company Dolls 1915-1925 USA, German
Brief history; The K and K Toy Company, Inc. was founded in New York City in 1915 as an importer of mostly German bisque head dolls and as the company name indicates, probably toys too.
Some antique dolls sold by K & K are notably; Flossie Fisher’s Own Doll, Kewpie dolls, Little Aero Fly-Lo Baby doll, Hollikids, Bye-Lo Baby, Rosemarie dolls and others, as well as supplying composition doll bodies often marked bisquette or fiberoid and cloth or kid bodies to other doll makers.
K & K bisque shoulder head dolls were made by Alt, Beck & Gottschalk. K & K Toy products were distributed by George Borgfeldt and Butler Brothers. A 1924 advertisement states that the company name K & K stands for Kept Klean. In 1925 the Cameo Doll company took over the K and K Toy company products.
