1967-1968 Hasbro Show-biz Babies Dolls USA

Created by Hasbro in 1967 to 1968 Show-biz Babies dolls featured famous “Show-biz” singers and songwriters of the 1960s time period. All Hasbro Show-biz baby dolls are 4 to 4 1/4″ tall, jointed only at neck, vinyl head with rooted hair, all vinyl wired and poseable bodies. 

Each doll came with it’s own 33 1/3 RPM vinyl record autographed on the back bubble card.   All Hasbro Show-biz Babies dolls marked on back © 1967 HASBRO HONG KONG.

Hasbro Show-biz Babies  The Monkees music group

Hey, hey, hey we’re  . . . The Monkees the music group consists of  four members, dolls are 4 – 4 1/2″ tall  -The Monkees music group is best known for pop song hits in 1966 Last Train To Clarksville, I’m A Believer and Daydream Believer. Four band members; Peter Tork, Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz and Mike Nesmith.

1967-1968 Hasbro Show-biz Babies The Mamas and the Papas music group

The Mamas and Papas musical group hits were; 1965 California Dreamin, Monday, Monday, Go Where You Want To Go.

The Mamas and Papas music group consisted of four members; Denny Doherty, John Phillips, Michelle Phillips and Cass Elliot.  In 1974 shortly after Ms. Elliot’s passing, the Mamas and the Papas music group disbanded.

1967-1968 Hasbro Show-biz Babies Mamas and Papas #8806 Denny Doherty doll, Dennis Gerrard Stephen Doherty was born 19 September 1941 – 19 January 2007, has brown rooted hair, mustache and short beard, wearing a blue blazer, red long sleeve shirt, blue and green check pants, white plastic shoes.

Hasbro Show-biz Babies dolls – four individual singers

– each singer had big hits in the late 1960s.  All Hasbro Show-biz Baby dolls are 4 to 4 1/4″ tall

#8813 Spencer Davis doll, The Spencer Davis Group 1968, Spencer Davis was born on 17 July 1942 in Wales – 19 October 2020.  Spencer formed the rock band in 1963.  Sixteen year old Stevie Winwood did vocals, keyboard and guitar until he left in 1967 Show-bizform the group “Traffic”.  A dozen different performers were with the Spencer Davis Group at one time or another.  Hits were; Gimme Some Lovin 1967, Somebody Help Me 1966, Keep On Runnin 11/1965.

Hermans Hermits – Peter Noone doll, Peter Blair Bernard Noone was born 5 November 1947 in England – 19 October 2020.  In 1965 the Hermans Hermits music group sold more records than the Beatles.  Their 1960s big hits were; Mrs. Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter, Henry the VIII, I’m Into Something Good, this last song was re-made and used in the 1989 Naked Gun movie.

#8814 Bobby Gentry doll, Roberta Lee Streeter, is a singer, songwriter was born 27 July 1944 in Mississippi, USA – to present. Bobby Gentry’s hit Song; “Ode To Billy Joe” wrote and recorded in 1967.  (Billie Joe McAllister jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge because of a homosexual relationship in the movie, but Bobby Gentry said she’s not telling what really happened).  The hit song Ode To Billy Joe won three Grammy awards and was made into a movie in 1976.

Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels –  Mitch Ryder doll William Sherille Levise Jr., is a singer and songwriter, born 26 February 1945 – present.   Mitch Ryder’s 1960s big hits were; Devil with the Blue Dress on, September 1966, Good Golly Miss Molly, September 1966, and Sock It To Me Baby!,  on January 1967.
