Earle Pullan Doll Company Limited operated in Toronto, Canada from 1945 to 1967 when they were bought by the American doll and toy maker Mattel.  Pullan made dolls of composition, hard plastic, soft rubber and vinyl, also plush toys and games. Some of Pullan’s dolls were licensed from American doll makers and are marked with the Pullan name.

1960s Earle Pullan Santa Claus doll 11" tall

1960s Earle Pullan Santa Claus doll 11″ tall vinyl head, painted facial features, white moustache and bead, vinyl hands, dressed in a traditional red two piece suit trimmed in white fur, red boots, doll mark PULLAN.

1960s Earle Pullan Fluffy type 9" doll face

ca. 1960s Earle Pullan Fluffy type look a like doll 8-9″ tall, vinyl head with short rooted hair, sleep eyes, real eyelashes, closed mouth, plastic jointed body, doll mark PULLAN or unmarked. 

1960s Effanbee appears to be the originator of the Fluffy type doll mold and the doll is marked Effanbee.  Other doll makers who sold Fluffy doll molds include; Allied-Grand a doll called Bonnie who is marked AE,  Mary Hoyer named and sold this doll as Margie (no freckles), Kellogg’s doll is named Linda Lou, used as a mail in premium Advertising doll is unmarked. Earle Pullan sold this doll name unknown, marked Pullan.  Sayco named her Cute Carol (with freckles) dll mark unknown and Valentine used this doll mold for the 13-15″ tall Perfect Patient doll who is unmarked, are some of the doll makers that we have found. 

1961 Earle Pullan molded hair Boy 20" doll

1960+ Earle Pullan Drink N’ Wet Baby doll, 19″ tall, has a vinyl head with lightly painted molded hair, single stroke eyebrows, blue sleep eyes with real upper eyelashes, painted lower lashes, an open mouth with hole for drinking a bottle, a five piece hard plastic jointed baby bent limb body, doll marked PULLAN. Drink n’ Wet head mold is generic and sold by others with different markings, Ellanee is one of those.

1960 Earle Pullan Bobby 20" boy doll

1960-1961 Earle Pullan Bobby doll, 16 1/2″ or 20″ tall, vinyl head, hard plastic body, jointed neck, shoulders and hips, blue sleep eyes, real upper lashes, painted lower eyelashes, molded light brown hair painted , closed mouth, doll marked PULLAN. 

Doll was sold by several different companies, each giving him a different name. Dee and Cee named him Willy is 16″ tall dressed as a Groom, a Sailor or a Mountie, each wore appropriate to the name clothing, doll marked DEE AN CEE or unmarked. 1960 Earle Pullan Miss Lucky Green Stamps doll 15″ or  35″ tall 
playpal type, The 15″ tall doll has a vinyl head, blue sleep eyes, eyelid crease, real upper lashes, painted lower lashes, rooted blond saran hair in ponytail and bangs, closed mouth, plastic body jointed at shoulders, neck and hips, doll marked PULLAN.  The 35″ playpal doll has an open mouth with teeth and is unmarked or marked 35 – 5 PULLAN. Both wear a green dress with a white pinafore apron.

1961 Earle Pullan Little Mister Bad Boy 18 & 31" dolls

1961 Pullan Little Mister Bad Boy doll 16, 20 and 31″ tall, vinyl head, hard plastic body, jointed neck, shoulders and hips, blue sleep eyes, real upper lashes, painted lower eyelashes, molded light brown hair painted, closed mouth, he’s dressed in a black and white striped jail uniform, doll marked PULLAN. Reliable also sold a Little Mister Bad Boy doll 18″ tall, doll marked Reliable in script.

1963 Earle Pullan Freda doll and Fritz doll 13″ tall, sister and brother dolls, vinyl head, plastic body, jointed at the hips, shoulders and neck, painted eyes, deeply molded painted hair, closed mouth.  The Freda doll shown is dressed in her original peasant clothing, dolls are unmarked.

1964 Earle Pullan Marjie doll 12″ tall, an Ideal Tammy look a like doll, plastic jointed body at neck, shoulders and hips, vinyl head with rooted short curly hair, painted blue side glancing eyes, painted eye lashes, closed mouth, came wearing a printed top with yellow shorts playsuit, doll marked on head MARJIE.

1964 Earle Pullan Marlane doll, 12″ tall, an American Character Tressy look a like doll, plastic jointed body at neck shoulders and hips, vinyl head with rooted straight hair and bangs, painted side glancing eyes, closed mouth, came wearing a sleeveless red dress trimmed with white along neck and sleeve openings, doll marked on head PULLAN.

1965 Miss Marjie doll 12″ tall, same as above doll now with the growing hair feature, came dressed in business attire navy two piece suit, jacket collar and lapel are trimmed in white edging with a white blouse and white shoes, doll marked on head MARJIE.

1964 Earle Pullan Peaches doll, 12″ tall, vinyl head, dark brown rooted short curly bubble cut hair, fixed blue glassine eyes, molded upper eyelashes, wide open/closed mouth, hard plastic body and legs, vinyl arms, jointed at the neck, shoulder and hips, wears a red and black checkered board print short jacket two white donut snap back closure, solid red hat with white faux fur trim, white fur pompons, solid red footed stretch pants, white plastic mary jane shoes with yellow plastic skis and all black plastic poles with silver tone pics, she also came dressed as an ice skater and possibly other outfits, doll marked Pullan Made in Canada or unmarked. 1965 Earle Pullan Boxer Boy doll, 12″ tall, soft vinyl jointed body at the neck, shoulders and hips, vinyl head with short rooted light brown hair, painted side glancing eyes, most dolls have one left black eye, shown is the rarer doll without a black eye, closed smiling watermelon mouth, came wearing boxer shorts, socks and shoes with a pair of boxing gloves, doll is unmarked.
