1937-1943 Alexander Baby McGuffey Ana doll 18″ tall, composition head and limbs cloth stuffed body, sleep eyes, open mouth mohair wig, doll mark Princess Elizabeth,

937-1943 Alexander McGuffey Ana doll 

1937-1943 Alexander McGuffey Ana doll 9-22″ tall, all composition, sleep eyes (9″ doll has painted eyes), open mouth (except for the 11″ which has a closed mouth), usually came with a braided wig, doll mark Princess Elizabeth, circle X 13 on back or unmarked.

1937 Alexander Princess Alexandria doll 24" tall

1937+ Alexander Princess Alexandria doll 24″ tall, cloth body with composition head & limbs, molded hair, blue sleep eyes, open mouth, she is wearing her original dress under a replacement and original bonnet, doll is unmarked.

1937 Alexander Princess Elizabeth dolls

1937+ Alexander Princess Elizabeth doll 13-27″ tall, all composition jointed body, tin or glassene sleep eyes real upper lashes, painted lower lashes, open smiling mouth with teeth and felt tongue or closed mouth with the Betty face mold, mohair or human wig, original gowns, purse, shoes, tiara   Doll marked Princess Elizabeth Alexander Doll Co.

Other Madame Alexander character dolls that used the Princess Elizabeth face mold are;  Cinderella, Flora McFlimsey, Girl Scout, Kate Greenaway, Margaret Rose, McGuffy Ana, Miss Victoria, Snow White dolls.

1937 Alexander Jane Withers doll 13" tall

1937 Alexander Jane Withers doll 13, 15, 17, 19-20″ tall, celebrity doll, all composition or cloth body with composition limbs, jointed, sleep eyes, brown mohair wig, open mouth with four upper teeth or closed mouth.  Came in several cotton dresses or other clothing and usually had a Jane Withers pin and clothing will have the Jane name on the tag.  Shown is a copy of the photo that appeared on the Jane Withers hangtag which stated on reverse “Authentic Jane Withers Doll  All rights reserved Madame Alexander New York”.  Jane Withers dolls are unmarked, or Jane Withers Alexander Doll on the neck rim, the 17″ size can be marked 17 on back.

1938 Alexander Flora McFlimsey dolls

1938+ Alexander Flora McFlimsey doll 13-27″ tall, all composition, strawberry blonde human or mohair wig with bangs and braid down back, jointed body, hazel tin or glassene sleep eyes, painted facial features including freckles sprinkled across the nose, open smiling mouth with six upper teeth and felt tongue (also possible they used the closed mouth Betty mold for some dolls).  The Princess Elizabeth head mold, it’s the clothing that gives this doll it’s name, doll usually marked 13 on the 13″ tall doll or PRINCESS ELIZABETH ALEXANDER DOLL CO. 

Flora McFlimsey is based on the character Miss Flora McFlimsey of Madison Square, from William Allen Butler’s famous satirical poem; Nothing to Wear published in 1857.

1938+ Alexander Baby doll 18-24″ tall, composition head and limbs with molded hair, sleep eyes, closed mouth, cloth stuffed body, doll mark AX.

1938+ Alexander Portrait Marie Antoinette doll 21" tall

1938-1946 Alexander Portrait Dolls 21″ tall, all composition, wigged, jointed at the neck, shoulder and hips.  Set of thirteen portrait dolls were designed to be used as window displays, each doll originally sold for $75.00, these portrait dolls use the Wendy Ann face mold with eye and brow modifications commissioned by an artist specifically for these dolls.  Marie Antoinette is shown all original gown and platinum hair. Other Alexander Portrait Series dolls are: June Bride, Princess Flavia doll, Carmen doll, Juliet doll, Orchard Princess doll, Judy Garland doll, Renoir or Lady Windemere doll, Marie Antoinette doll, (2) Melanie dolls, Godey Lady doll and Degas ballerina doll. Dolls are unmarked, pantaloons, slips have a Madame Alexander tag.

1939 Alexander Sonja Henie dolls

1939 Alexander Sonja Henie doll, 14-15, 18, 21″ tall, celebrity doll, (Sonja Henie was an Olympic gold medalist ice skater and movie star), all composition, blonde curly wig, brown sleep eyes, open mouth showing four teeth, dimples, fully jointed, some have swivel or twist waist, usually dressed in a skating outfit but they used this head mold for some WWII military dolls and a Bride.  Some of the small sized dolls used the Wendy Ann face, doll marked Sonja Henie Madame Alexander, clothing marked Sonja Henie on the tag.
